Payroll
What are my payroll options with DBA?
Payroll is processed outside of DBAPayroll is an independent accounting function that is processed outside of the DBA system. This independence enables you to use the payroll software or service that best meets your needs. Complete payroll accounting setup specifications are provided so that your payroll system is compatible with the DBA standard chart of accounts.
Payroll is imported or entered in the General LedgerPayroll transactions can be imported into the General Ledger via the Payroll Import screen or can be summarized by account and manually entered via the Journal Entry screen.
CheckMark Payroll® recommended for in-house payroll (USA & Canada)CheckMark Payroll® is our recommended solution for in house USA or Canadian payroll. CheckMark is an inexpensive stand-alone payroll package that we have used ourselves and is used by many of our customers. It includes an export utility for DBA that enables you to import payroll transaction detail into the General Ledger.
Stand-Alone Payroll Option (Outside USA)If you are outside the USA and Canada and wish to do payroll in-house, any stand-alone payroll software package can be used, provided that you are able to assign your own ledger accounts and export transactions or account summaries.
Payroll Outsourcing OptionPayroll outsourcing is an increasingly popular option and is available from payroll service providers such as Paychex® or ADP®.
Existing Payroll Module OptionYou can continue using your old accounting system's Payroll module, provided that you can change the ledger accounts to correspond with those needed by DBA.
